From a small collection of 6 pictures I am listing . An original pen and ink drawing by artist, cartoonist and illustrator William Papas ( 1927-2000 ) . This is a scene in Canterbury and is signed and dated 1970. Very busy scene and each time you look at it you notice something different. Sheet size is 50 x 39cm and in its frame 67 x 57cm. Has a Tibs Lane Gallery label on the backboard. William "Bill" Papas (15 July 1927 – 19 June 2000) was a political cartoonist and caricaturist, book author and illustrator, and watercolourist. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked for The Guardian, The Sunday Times and Punch. His work has won international acclaim and is included in many private and corporate collections around the world.
