Charles Rennie Mackintosh - Designer

Also known as Charles Rennie Macintosh

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a noted Scottish Architect Designer working alongside his wife Margaret Macdonald at the start of the 20th Century. His sense of simple yet highly elegant form made him one of the most influential designers of his period and whose style is seen as a transition from Art Nouveau to Modernism. Mackintosh’s most famous commissions were for the Glasgow School of Art & Willow Tearooms.  Although original works by Mackintosh are extremely valuable today, he helped guide the Glasgow Style popular during the Arts & Crafts period.  As such many people refer to items as being in the Mackintosh style. At LoveAntiques we have a good selection of antique & vintage pieces inspired by Mackintosh & Macdonald.
