Edwin William Godwin is widely considered one of the most progressive architect designers of the 19th Century and is extremely desirable among collectors today. Working during the Aesthetic Period between c1860s-1880s Godwin was strongly influenced by Japanese designs, and compared to the heaviness of most Victorian furniture, his work had a lightness and grace about it. Some of Godwin’s ideas and designs were picked up and copied by others at the time. At LoveAntiques we have original antique furniture designed by Godwin as well as pieces influenced by him.
