Fully glazed to inside. 18.5cm height, 12cm base, 17cm to inside rim, 22.5cm at widest diameter. Incised Royal Doulton mark used 1902-1922. Signed MB (Maud Bowden; Senior Assistant c1903 to 1937). Maud Bowden was one of the many long-serving Doulton Lambeth assistants - starting in 1903 when the elaborate designs of the Victorian period changed into more simple tube-lined designs.  She worked at Royal Doulton until 1937, when the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were in decline. She was well regarded as a Senior Assistant - assisting Doulton artists as well as making her own pieces.
