A rare Victorian enamel brooch or lapel badge with clip back and decorated with a facsimile of a Bank of England £20 note of 1877.
It is thought that these badges were manufactured in Paris or Bohemia and when imported into the country the Government of the day attempted to seize them under the Forgery Act. Some brooches escaped being seized.
