Art & Stuff is a shop in Abingdon on Thames, about 5 miles from Oxford. I specialise in original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks which are mostly limited edition lithographic prints. My website has a gallery section where many of my items are shown, including heavier items which are not easy to post! I welcome browsers to my shop which is open Thursday to Saturday. I also stock antiques and collectables of all kinds including contemporary studio pottery and glassware. I also look out for the weird and quirky!

A very charming little Victorian silver brooch - hallmarked for Birmingham 1894 - with what appears to be copper inlay, featuring a horseshoe for good luck. Although in modern times, we tend to place horseshoes upright (to prevent the luck falling out), in earlier times they were placed upside down (so the devil couldn't get a foothold!) so I have illustrated the brooch in that way.

Height : 17 mm - 0.67 in
