Description

ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU sterling SILVER NECKLACE ENAMEL & Agate DRAGONFLY

An antique sterling silver Art Nuveau necklace; hand made with translucent
enameled Dragonfly in purples shades with Agate stone body.

ATTENTON catcher necklace- terrific quality, very wearable & highly collectable too!

CONDITION: All original and an excellent conditon. Very minor signs of wear commensurate with age and use. No damage to enamel. Silver has been tarnished with age in this amazing niello look like colour.

DEFECTS: I found with magnifying glass only one hairline (sort of) crack in the corner of top left wing which close to the body. But all enamel in place very stable.

It is amazing Art work of jewelier, the DRAGONFLY looks like alive. It is swings on the silver chain with four cobalt blue glass beads (two on each side)

MARKS: on the back: STG SIL ( sterling silver), on the chain fastener: sterling .
And it is one mark on the central back, looks like stamp with some lines inside, but it is not clear, I can not read it.

It has enough length if you want to make the chain shorter for different look of necklace.

I made the photos (last photo shows the look if you would like to make the chain shorter )

Likely it was made in USA IN about circa 1910
