Description

Rare Smiths Everest automatic wrist watch, released to commemorate Hillary’s Everest expedition. The watch has a 25-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. Both the ratchet wheel and the rotor are signed Smiths Imperial, which is absolutely correct and just how it should be. The movement was designed by Richard Good and Peter Amis in London and built at the Bishop's Cleeve factory on the outskirts of Cheltenham.

The watch itself measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated with a stainless steel case back and it is in very nice condition. The winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish which is in very nice condition with original hands, original centre seconds hand with red detail and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

All of our prices include worldwide postage.

Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red Buy Now button on each listing page.

We are VAT registered and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

We also welcome film / TV enquiries (we have supplied Peaky Blinders, Grantchester and Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express to name just a few).

Non-UK buyers are welcome but payment can be made by Paypal only.

Please note that we are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers.
