18 Kt Gold Le Roy Et Fils Pocket Watch 1860
You are bidding on an 18 Kt gold keywind pocket watch made by Le Roy Et Fils with a silver dial. The pocket watch is made in Paris - France in 1860. The pocket watch is complete with an old key.
DIAL: The Breguet engine turned silver dial has Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has blue steel moon hands and the protective glass is in good condition.
MOVEMENT: The fine gilt cylinder movement is working very well however we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique watch.
CASE: The pocket watch lies in an 18 Kt gold nice engine turned case. The inner side of the case is stamped for 18 Kt gold ( See pictures). The cuvette is signed: "LEROY ET FILS, HEURS DU ROI A PARIS" and numbered: " N° 12772".

Le Roy Paris Julien Le Roy was born in Tours in 1686. He developed at an early age a gift for mechanical work and constructed a clock at the age of 13. At the age of 17 he went to Paris and became an apprentice of Le Bon. It is said that he learned so quickly that he started and finished a repeating watch in less than 8 days. Julien Le Roy was a celebrated maker who raised the status of French watchmaking by the perfection of his work and design. Julien Le Roy Died in 1785.
