Description

This is a late 19th Century Victorian gilt metal and orange red carnelian oval shape brooch, the larger size, 1.75 x 1.5 inch. The carnelian is bevelled edge and a deep orange colour very similar to a cairngorm, Scottish if not in origin, it is in theme. The metal is a brass alloy or pinchbeck style metal and would have been gold washed when new. All is good.
