Qing Dynasty Very Pale Celadon Chinese Jade Pendant

A very nice quality pale celadon (bordering on white) Chinese jade pendant of rectangular form. Reassuringly very cold to the touch, the front is carved in low relief with a seated dragon having a scrolling tail below the intricately carved backbone, his head tilted skyward, he breaths smoke high above him and to his lower left foot, a minute tablet seal is viewed carved with stylised characters. The front and rear crestings are very delicately carved with finely defined Greek Key, scrolls and further Chinese decoration above the outer sides with are adorned with thread patterns. The reverse is distinguished with various centrally carved Chinese characters above a small double scroll to the lower middle edge. Provenance: ex. the personal collection of David Battie, Oriental expert on Bbc's Antiques Roadshow for 40 years (the longest serving cast member). The pendant measures 50 mm high x 33 mm wide and is in beautifully original condition with no issues whatsoever. A highly desirable piece.
