Wonderful Brass & Copper Filigree Pen Tray, Historical Figure Detail

An interesting antique 19th century (Victorian era) brass pen tray with copper filigree work decoration around the edges and cameo style depictions of various male figures, perhaps philosophers or apostles, since one of the figures looks very like depictions of Jesus Christ. There are brass bun type feet. The piece has a super lightly polished patina and is an item of quality offered here in very good order. The detail of the casting is very good and shows little sign of wear. There is no makers mark on the item, but it seems to me to be of super quality and heavy in weight. The piece measures about 9.3 inches (23.6 cm) in length and 3.4 inches (8.8 cm) in width. This would make a wonderful addition to any period style desk or for a collector of Victorian or religious, medieval or gothic style items, or writing antiques.
