Description
This pretty silver brooch features a marcasite swallow holding a cut glass amethyst heart drop within an oval surround. Swallows and hearts were popular symbols of love during the Victorian / Edwardian period and such brooches were gifted between sweethearts. The swallow is on a pivot which gives it movement enabling the heart to catch the light. Marked Silver.
