UK Postage Only For This Item
The watch has a 17-jewel bumper automatic movement, calibre 28.10 Ra Pc Sc (Ra means remontoire automatique (automatic), Pc refers to the shock proofing, Sc to the centre seconds hand) which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 10,519,243 which dates it back to 1944.
Early automatic movements such as this one relied on the rotor ‘bumping’ backwards and forwards between two springs to maintain the power within the movement. Later automatic watches have the fully rotational rotor.
The watch measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the handsomely shaped lugs. The case is stainless steel. It is the 2421-2 model, an early attempt at producing a waterproof case although, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The model 2421-2 is known by collectors as the “Ambassador” due to the advertising of the period, which announced the watch as an ambassador for Swiss precision.
Light surface marking but overall the case is in good condition for a 1940s piece. We believe the crown to be the original.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and blued steel centre seconds hand. There is even marking across the dial.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
