William Walcot - Artist

Walcot was born in Ukraine of Scottish/Russian parentage and initially became an architect in the art nouveau style. He moved to London in 1907 and became a celebrated architectural draughtsman in the 1920s/1930s. He became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1913 and Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1916. He also exhibited widely, including at Royal Academy. Sadly his practice collapsed after World War 2 and he committed suicide in 1943.
