12"Solid Oak Dial Clock c.1890
Late 19th Century dial clock. It has a solid oak case The white painted dial is signed by the retailers Camerer Kuss of Shepherds Bush and has a polished and lacquered brass bezel. It has 8 day spring pendulum movement. The Anglo-German clockmaking firm Camerer Kuss was founded in London by two German immigrants In 1867 the firm opened a retail outlet and workshop in New Oxford Street. The shop eventually had several branches each owned by brothers. The flagship New Oxford Street shop closed in 1983.
