Description
Not just any three drawers...just look at these for detail. You just can't help but admire the nice work that went in to creating this chest of drawers from the 1600's. The geometric designed drawers are superb, complete with metal drop handles, and sits upon bracketed feet with scallop work to the front and two side plinth returns. The two fielded square fronted drawers sit under and over the octagonal extra deep middle drawer. The twin matching geometric design is nicely done, and each drawer has a frame work enclosing a small very detailed pilaster on both sides of each drawer. While the sides of the cabinet have two flat framed panels with a subtle beading detail. Considering the piece of furniture is around 400 years old and the condition is remarkable, The monarchs who would have been around are; James I, Charles I or even Charles the Ii. What a thought.
