17th Century Oak Mule Chest Coffer

This is a charming late 17th Century antique profusely carved oak mule chest. The three plank moulded edge top is over a grooved top rail, with a three panelled front, carved with faces and a coat of arms motifs, surrounded by a carved design, flanked by grooved sides and stiles. Animal head carvings drawer to the base, with attractive and ornate brass drop handles. The top opens to reveal a paper lined inside with a stay to hold the heavy lid open, The drawer and the base of the chest are in strong, solid and sturdy condition, the drawer opens smoothly and easily.
