18th Century Amsterdam Painted Settle with Fowl

A rare and unusual piece, this late 18th century wooden Amsterdam settle has a finely painted scene on the back which shows fowl in a landscape with the side of a farmyard building. - Ornately carved wooden frame with a floral motif, including the side supports. - Bronzed colouring to the carved wood. - Sides and supports have a similar design to an ornately cast iron bench, but carved in wood.
