Description
A wainscot chair is a type of early 18th-century chair, typically made of oak, featuring a solid, panelled back and often turned front legs. The name derives from the fine oak used for wainscot panelling, and these chairs were popular in England and colonial North America. Local areas had their own little variants and it is suggested this could be a Fair Isle chair but we haven't been able to confirm that. The secret drawer is an interesting new element we haven't seen in other Wainscot chairs.
