Description
Very nice plainer example of an 18th Century Hourglass having three spindles connecting to two discs.
Made from a mahogany and holding two handblown bulbs connected unusually by another turned piece of mahogany ‘stuck’ in place by hot wax.
The handblown glass has superb Striations and bubble faults and shows a very attractive blue hue from copper sulphates in the heating and blowing process. Although a plainer example, this is a superb example in untouched condition.
