Description

A good quality and totally original mid 18th century (George II) solid Virginia Red Walnut tilt-top Occasional Table of unusual small size. It has a one-piece ‘dished’ top; birdcage action with its original catch; The central column leads to tripod feet. Although these tables are not particularly rare, they are normally a lot larger, 28-30 inches in diameter. This example, at 20 inches in diameter, is pleasingly small and totally original. Measurements: diam: 20 inches; height: 27 ins (diam: 51 cm x height: 69 cm) c.1750
