A superb early 18th Century (c.1710) Queen Anne walnut bureau bookcase, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance. This charming piece is presented in remarkably good condition for its age, with a warm, rich patina and beautifully figured walnut veneers throughout. The top section features a striking double dome pediment, adorned with arched mirrored panel doors, with working lock and key. Inside, there is ample storage space for books, complemented by a pair of sliding candle trays neatly tucked beneath each door. The lower bureau section includes a classic fall-front writing flap, which opens to reveal a fitted interior comprising: * A green leather inset writing surface * Eight pigeonholes * Four small drawers ideal for storing stationery * A central drop well compartment for additional storage Beneath the writing section are two short drawers above two long drawers, with decorative brass swan neck handles.
