Lovely ebonised hardwood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1924 and makers mark for Henry Perkins. Lovely repousse decoration to the silver top with a black cartouche to the top. The ferrule is made of brass and steel. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 91.5 cm 36 inches in length, the pommel is 3.5 cm 1 3/8 inches wide and 4.5 cm 1 3/4 long.
Shires Antiques has clarified that the 1924 Walking Stick Cane Hallmarked Solid Silver Pommel Ebonised Wood Shaft (LA365105) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1924
It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. Some bumps to the silver as shown but non of these have caused holes and could be polished which would hide them far more. Left so that you can see them in the pictures.
