1938 Omega pocket watch and chain. The watch has a stem-winding movement, 15-jewel calibre 38.5L T1, which was in production from 1933 until 1949. This particular movement is numbered 8935576 which dates it back to around 1938. The movement is working nicely, and it is signed Omega. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a few scratches where an opening tool has slipped in the past. The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and overall it is in good condition for such an early piece, just a little unevenness to the hinged case back. The inner case back is signed with the Omega logo. The glass lens is in lovely condition. The signed dial has some faint hairlines around the perimeter but you have to look very carefully to see them. The watch comes with a single chain, 33cm long including the T-bar, and with a 1953 Clydach Coronation fob. Clydach is a large village and community in the county of Swansea, South Wales. The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL OF OUR PRICES INCLUDE UK AND WORLDWIDE POSTAGE. All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch. We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations. Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red Buy Now button on each listing page. Non-UK buyers are welcome but payment can be made by Paypal only. Please note that we are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
