1940s–1950s Oak Haberdashery Cabinet

A lovely oak haberdashery cabinet dating from the 1940s–1950s, retaining its original of glass front drawers and metal pull handles. Originally produced for use within a draper's, haberdashery shop, the cabinet features 20 glazed-front drawers above 2 larger storage drawers, designed for the organised storage and display of sewing supplies, ribbons, threads, patterns, and other small stock items. The glass fronts allowed contents to be easily identified while remaining protected from dust and handling. Constructed with solid oak drawer fronts and an oak-veneered carcass, the cabinet displays a warm honey-coloured patina acquired through decades of practical use. The original metal handles show pleasing signs of age, further enhancing the cabinet's commercial character.
