1944 Omega 'Teddington' Red Star Wristwatch. A silvered dial, with an evenly patinated finish. Black Arabic numerals and well detailed outer minute track surround. A large subsidiary seconds dial with finely detailed second and 5 second markers. A printed Omega logo above a red star.
These watches were produced to commemorate the Teddington Observatory prize which was first awarded to Omega for the cal 47.7 and later the 30T2RG. This watch was manufactured in 1944 and as with the other 'red star' models, would have been sold to the Brazilian market.
An oversized stainless steel case with tapered lugs, each with a champfered edge. The case is of a slim design overall, with a narrow bezel - as these models were made with an emphasis on the dial. Case reference 2271 1W.
The watch is powered by a 17 jewel Omega caliber 30T2 mechanism. Serial numbers date this watch to 1944.
