Lovely Malacca wood and hallmarked 9ct rose gold walking stick or cane, a really unusual find, a large number of these gadget canes are broken, this works perfectly (not Silver as you normally find). The gold was assayed in Birmingham as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1946 and makers mark for Jonathan Howell. There is a gold collar around the body of the cane where the top half has been lacquered to a darker colour than the lower shaft. On the side of the handle is a thumb push cap which releases a hidden 9ct gold pencil from inside the cane. The collar, cap and pencil holder are all stamped 9ct. The ferrule is original and made of polished deer antler. Please contact us with any questions you may have. Thank you for looking.
It measures 94 cm 37 inches in length, the handle is 13 cm 5 inches wide.
