This is a very deep and detailed carving showing a goddess and various musical assistants. Purchased from a lady who taught in the Indian sub-continent in the 1950's, so it is at least that old. Carved from one piece of wood. I'm unable to identify the wood but presumably an Indian hardwood, weighing over 3 kg. It comes with a hook at the rear to enable this piece to be hung on a wall. It is a fine piece of work
