1950s Silver Clan Badge, Macmillan Clan, John Hart "Iona Scotland"

A small Clan brooch or badge of the MacMillan Clan, made by the highly respected silversmith John Hart and marked with his conjoined "J H " mark in a oval cartouche and with "Iona, -- Scotland -- silver" The brooch is a standard clan brooch, circular with a surrounding garter which forms a tail for the brooch and contains the motto "Miseris Succurrere Disco" (I learn to succour the distressed) and a central two handed sword held to the right, good pin and safety "C" catch, it is 2.5 cm or 1 inch across and 3.0 cm or 1 1/4 inch in height. Please note the size as it is smaller than the usual Clan badge.
