​A 1959 Longines Flagship 'Big Ship' 18K gold wristwatch. A matte white dial with elongated hour markers, slightly larger at the quarters. An inner printed minute track with segmented 5 minute markers. An applied gilt Longines winged hourglass logo below 12, with printed script above. Signed to the lower section ''Flagship Automatic' with 3 stars. A solid 18K gold case, with elegantly tapered lugs showing champfered edges. The case overall is particularly well proportioned with a slim bezel and a flat case back. The standout feature of this watch is the case back, with a raised 'big ship' depicted - showing minimal signs of wear to the decoration. Original Longines winding crown. Signed to the inner 'Longines, Fab Suisse, Flagship' as well as a Swiss poincon 108. Case reference 1403. The watch is powered by a very rare, 27 jewel caliber 380 Longines mechanism. A slim rotor decorated with the Longines logo. Serial numbers date this watch to 1959.
