19th Century Continental Painted Pine Bench

Green with envy when someone see's this in your home. Many years of nice old distressed paint shining through this very wonderful example of a continental bench. Came from a collector of folk art, who carefully sourced original antiques pieces throughout his life... I just love the saw tooth fretwork back panels on this painted bench, very different, unusual design, but full of character. The top back rest has the odd tooth missing on the fret work, the low sections are smaller teeth and have avoided any losses, but this adds to the character and I would change this for anything. This would make a perfect bench for the home of a dentist, what a talking point. Couldn't you fix these then! I hear them cry with laughter. Bit of fun. Reminds me of a dentist who named his house 'Open Wide'. Joking apart, this is all but the various colour changes over its life, all original. You can see the green, blue and red dripping through at the back, and the missing paint allowing the very old aged pine shine through. The side arm rests form part of the front and back tapered legs. Whilst the top splays outwards with a ladder back design and meets the back. Simple a delightful bench that would look great in any position, my first position choice would be the entrance hall.
