19th Century French Rosewood Desk

-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques- A superb quality French rosewood writing desk. c1880. Having a newly fitted inset red leather writing surface with decorative gold-tooled edge, over four oak lined drawers of dove-tail construction. The top having a superstructure with six further drawers. All original locks and escutcheons are present, with two working keys to both sections. Very useful matching red leather pull-out slides to each side, allowing more space for books, papers etc. Standing on fluted tapering legs with turned feet. Lovely rich colour and figuring to the rosewood. In excellent antique condition. Strong, solid and sturdy. The top superstructure section can be lifted off and removed easily, to make lifting and moving easier. The dimensions are.
