19th Century Imari Oval Shaped Scalloped Bowl

Offered for sale is a 19th Century Imari Oval Shaped Scalloped Bowl. It is hand decorated in a typical Imari palette with a floral decorated border and a central reserve of a garden scene with a tree and flower filled urn, in cobalt, orange and white decoration, the floral theme is continued on the reverse with the addition of cobalt blue and orange butterflies. There is an old repair which you can see from the photographs, however it's a lovely thing especially when you consider it is more than 100 years old and somebody obviously loved it enough to repair it.
