A wonderful 19th century cased set for the collector of medical scientific instruments, this amputation equipment includes implements by a Scottish maker and is scarce to find on the market. - Some pieces marked Young of Edinburgh, including the large knife blades and the bone shears. - Mahogany case with purple velvet lining. - Working lock and key. - Ebonised handles to the saw and knives. - Brass screw tourniquet. - Suture needles in triangular compartment with wax nodule. - Clean cartouche. In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
