Description
A striking earthenware plate produced by the Minton & Boyle partnership in Stoke on Trent between 1836 and 1841. Decorated with a printed and hand-coloured Oriental influenced design in bright Imari type colours. The base bears a printed cartouche enclosing the hand-written pattern number, 4407, with the initials, M&B beneath. Above this is the name and address: J Allsup / 16 St. Pauls Church Yard / London. Allsup was one of Mintons main customers at this time.
