Description
Circa 1890. A pair of Qing Dynasty Hongmu Throne chairs, the shaped cresting rail with fine beading and pierced fret work, the profusely carved back with Chinese motif in the center and various foliate carvings including a mythical creature in the base, the solid panel seat with great colour and patination, the shaped arms on supported uprights with pierced sides and foliate carving, with typical Chinese shaped frieze, all resting on four square legs braced by conforming stretchers.
