Absolutely Show Stopping Caned & Carved Original 6’ Louis XVI Bed

We have been asked for a bed of this style and size for so long and have never found one until now. Increasingly hard to come by and exceptionally rare. Dated 18th century, a fabulous example of Louis XVI furniture from the South of France. Very likely a commission for a chateau from this region. Stunning floral and foliate carving throughout, with geometric carving on the foot end and encompassing the floral carving across the top of the head end. Original gilding and paintwork. The bed has the original side rails. Individually turned urn shaped finals/knobs. We have replaced the cane and cleaned and made sure all is sturdy and ready to last a few more hundred years. The beautiful low foot end also has beautiful floral and foliate carving. Fully restored to be sturdy, practical and beautiful. Whole frame cleaned and tested for durability. All joints checked for secure fit. Price includes 2” or 4” hard top bed base. The bed is photographed on 4” base with our Bordeaux mattress.
