Ancient Silver Gilt Carnelian Roman Signet Ring Band Size S (US Size 8.25) 4th Century

An absolutely stunning well-preserved Roman Signet / Fealty ring. Crafted from gilded mined silver in the 4th Century. Beautifully detailed this is sure to bring a smile to your face. Full details and dimensions are provided below but please feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions either via the site or email : luvenq@natesgems.com ABOUT THIS RING Constructed from solid mined silver (tests around 940 parts per 1000) with gold gilding OBVIOUSLY pre dates hallmarking by a very long way. Dates to the 4th Century, most likely Constantinian Roman era UK found (Mercia) on an archaeological excavation. Hand made signet fealty ring featuring hand etched designs and a central gemstone. Gemstone: Round cabochon smoothed carnelian. You can just feel the history in this ring, very hard to come by and of Museum quality. Good wearable condition. Was dug out of the ground so shows some wear to the gilding and the stone. This was in a right state when I got it so against my normal policy I have cleaned to the point it can be worn but no further - it SHOULD look old. Width across front is 13.6 mm. Depth of front and setting is 7.6 mm. Width at back is 5.5mm. UK Size is S US size is 9.25 Resizable by an expert jeweller (I do not resize without measuring the finger myself) Nice and sturdy and chunky. Pricing an item like this is very difficult as it is irreplaceable. You could easily pay over £1,000 but in all honesty I just want to pass some of these treasures on and am only looking to make my money back (many 1000s invested over the years lol) Purchase price includes worldwide tracked and insured postage - USA will vary due to tariff changes. I do not use professional photographers (you'd just have to pay more if I did) and do not photoshop or enhance pictures in any way. I simply take macro pictures in a homemade lightbox to provide the most honest portrayal possible. I clean lightly before snapping but do not polish to "as new" though this can obviously be done. It is only my opinion but I feel antique items that are polished too much lose some of the character. I will always note any faults and will always answer honestly when asked regarding any imperfections.
