A stunning, fine and impressive antique 1930's 0.45 carat diamond and platinum locket - boxed; part of our diverse antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This fine and impressive antique locket has been crafted in platinum. The antique platinum locket has an oval design ornamented with the applied initials 'Bmr'. The millegrain decorated interlacing initials are embellished with forty-nine Dutch cut diamonds. The reverse of the locket is ornamented with the contemporary engraved inscription '1923, Betty 9, Mary 7, Richard 2'. This 1920's hinged locket opens to allow access to three photographs to be placed behind removable, push fit transparent retainers; the third hinged sprung frame indicates the high quality of the piece. This platinum antique diamond locket suspends from a contemporary, associate 18ct white gold 18" trace chain via a ring loop attachment to the upper border of the design, ornamented with five further diamonds. The chain secures with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse. This antique locket has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum. This impressive pendant is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. This exceptional pendant is fitted to the original, fine and impressive hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a hinged catch. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'W Bruford & Son Ltd, 241 High Street, Exeter, also at Eastbourne'. Such exceptional examples, fitted to the original presentation box, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
