Description
A fine and impressive 0.52 carat diamond and enamel, 12 carat yellow gold and silver set jockey brooch - boxed; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections This fine and impressive jockey and horse brooch has been crafted in 12ct yellow gold with silver settings. The anterior surface of the three-dimensional horse is embellished with forty-one Dutch cut diamonds, accented with yellow gold designs replicating the hooves, reins and bridal. The jockey is ornamented with impressive hot enamel, replicating the yellow, red and white silks, and black boots and cap; such examples with the original enamel are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. This antique diamond brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety catch. This horse and jockey brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 12 carat gold and silver. This antique brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. The brooch is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior. The interior cover of the box bears the retailer's mark 'William Morrison, Jeweller & Silversmith, Vicar Street, Falkirk'. Such brooches featuring a full jockey, straddling the horse with visibility from both sides, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate; this desirable three-dimensional design indicates the high quality of the piece. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
