Antique 1800s Silver Lidded Vanity Jar

This is a beautiful small Antique Sterling Silver Glass Jar from the early 1800s. It’s a lovely rare antique, perfect for storing small items such as a couple of pills, rings or keeping powder or cream in. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present. The glass base is clear and is dodecagon shaped with 12 sides, and a flat base with a pretty design to it. The Sterling Silver lid lifts off the jar. The shiny lid has lines around the side and the inside features the maker’s mark and hallmarks. It was made by Archibald Douglas and it was hallmarked in London in 1826. It’s in good condition, particularly bearing in mind its age. The silver is shiny with tarnish around the sides to show the lined design. There are a couple of tiny dents to the lid and a couple of very small chips to the glass rim, none of which are very obvious. The silver lid weighs 15g. The jar has a diameter of 4cm (1 1/2 inches). The height is 3.5cm (1 3/8 inch).
