Lovely unusual twist 5 stone part eternity with rub over set diamonds in a platinum mount. Fully assay marked old style 18ct gold platinum in the UK. Dates to middle part of the 19th Century c1870s. In olden times the alloying of gold left it too soft to mount stones in effectively. For this reason other metals were used to provide a more secure setting - in this instance platinum. In very good condition ready to wear. Main Stones: 5 x graduated rose cut natural white diamonds. Width across setting is 9 mm. Depth of setting is 4.2mm. Width at rear is 2 mm. UK Size is O US size is 7.25. Resizable by your jeweller (I do not resize without measuring the finger myself) A well made ring at 3 grams in weight.
