Description
This is a beautiful small antique sterling silver glass jar from the early 1900s. It would be perfect for storing small items such as a couple of pills, rings or keeping powder or cream in.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
The glass base is clear and is dodecagon shaped with 12 sides and a flat base. The sterling silver lid lifts off the jar. The lid has a very pretty floral Repousse design to the top and lines around the side. The inside of it is gold washed.
Part of the maker’s mark is rubbed but it is very likely to have been made by Cohen and Charles and it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1900. The hallmarks are on the side of the lid.

The silver lid weighs 7g. The jar has a diameter a diameter of 3.5cm (1 3/8 inches). The height is 2.5cm (1 inch).

condition
It’s in very good condition. There are no chips to the glass and the silver is shiny with a little tarnish that helps to show the Repousse design.
