Description
Antique Yomut Turkmen, carpet, approximately 9'11" x 5'9", dating from the last quarter c.19th. The pale aubergine coloured field with columns of Dyrnak Guls, enclosed by ivory coloured borders of serrated leaves and latch-hook vines, flanked by both guard stripes. A old hand knotted, supple carpet of high quality wool with fringes to the ends. An attractive old carpet, in fair condition with wear and running repairs, though still full of charm, and ready for use.

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This antique carpet is in a fair condition, commensurate with its age. The pile is worn, heavily in places, and the reverse has several taped patches, to stabilise it further wear. The fringes have loses. There is some wear to the edges. Overall the carpet is still very usable, and remains full of charm. Vacuumed, deodorised, and treated for moth prevention. Clean and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
