Description
This is a really attractive Ahar Heriz Carpet in absolutely beautiful condition dating from around 1930. The Ahar Heriz is a highly durable hand knotted woollen rug originating from Ahar in East Azerbaijan. These carpets combine the famous medallion layout of the traditional Heriz carpet with a slightly softer more curvilinear design. This Ahar has a raspberry field richly decorated with vines centred by an indigo flowerhead medallion. This is enclosed by midnight blue borders of rosettes and serrated leaves, flanked by lemon guard stripes.
This has been recently washed and is in beautiful clean condition ready for use in the home.
