Description
An early 20th century Baluch Persian-Afghan handwoven rug, measuring approximately 7' x 3'8", dating from the early 20th century. This finely made rug features a compartmentalised field with geometric medallions and serrated motifs, accented by vertical indigo bands and framed by multiple borders.
Expertly hand-knotted from soft wool on a wool foundation, this rug has a supple handle and displays the craftsmanship typical of nomadic weavers from the Afghanistan region. Both ends are finished with fringes and selvages.
A characterful vintage piece, full of warmth and individuality, perfect for adding texture and authenticity to any interior.
