Antique Black Onyx & 0.23ct Diamond 18ct Gold Locket c.1880

Stunning, fine and impressive antique black onyx and 0.23 carat diamond, 18ct carat white and yellow gold pendant; part of our diverse Victorian gemstone jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning Victorian pendant has been crafted in 18ct white and yellow gold. The impressive oval shaped black onyx panel is embellished with an impressive floriated 18ct white gold design to the anterior surface. The millegrain decorated stemmed floral design is ornamented with fourteen pavé set Old Dutch cut diamonds. The reverse of the pendant is fitted with a push fit glass panel encompassed with an 18ct yellow gold mount, which allows a personal memento or keepsake to be displayed. This black onyx and diamond pendant locket is suspended from a contemporary 18ct yellow gold 45.72cm/18' trace chain via a tapering bale ornamented with five further Old Dutch cut diamonds. The chain secures with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse. This antique diamond locket has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold.
