Antique Blue Duck Egg Blue Green Writing Bureau with Lockable Fall Front

This is a lovely antique writing bureau which dates to the early 20th century. Made of mahogany and mixed woods it is solid and well made and is perfect for an office or study. It will make a nice alternative to a traditional desk and is a useful work space for any home, well sized for working on a laptop and ideal for a room with limited space. The bureau is simply styled, the top fitted with a lockable fall front which opens to reveal a fitted interior with pigeon holes and a small a drawer for storing stationery and correspondence. Below the top section are five spacious drawers lined with their original blue lining papers and finished with attractive drop handles set on round back plates. I have hand painted this piece in my own mix of water based blue green paint which I have called 'Starling Egg', the colour is similar to a duck egg blue colour which to some people will appear more green than blue. The paintwork has been darkly waxed for protection and has a smooth low sheen finish.
