Antique Burmese Silver Belt Buckle, High Relief Repousse, Figures and a Cow c.1880

A finely repoussed Silver belt buckle originating in Burma and dating to circa 1880. The buckle features three panels, the central one displaying a Burmese farmer with sun shade near grass roofed huts, a second panel showing a woman walking next to a hut and a third panel featuring an oxen and hut. All three are beautifully detailed using both repousse and engraving. Condition: Excellent. No dents or damage, some rubbing to the surface from polishing. No hallmarks but tested as 900 or higher grade silver. Size: With all three panels together; 5" in length x 2 7/8" tall. Weight: 61.39g
